Why are we talking about giving thanks in April? Thank Offering is typically collected in each local women’s group early in May and is sent to the CGWM regional treasurer.  The regional treasurer sends 60% of the Thank Offering to the General Conference Women’s Ministries, and the 40% remaining is dispersed by each region to the ministries of their choice. 2025Â Thank Offering Disbursement
It is exciting to report that our 2025 Thank Offering totaled $15,200.43 . Of that, $9,120.26 was disbursed to the following ministries supported by CGMW:

 Total $9,120.26
In 2026, the National CGWM Thank Offering will be disbursed as follows. A pamphlet is available that describes each ministry in more detail.

     Women’s Leadership Development (25%).   Â
     Winebrenner Female Students (25%)    Â
Physical Therapy School in Haiti (20%)
Nursing Scholarships in South Central Asia (15%)
     Venezuela Bible School (15%)
We have been working to innovate our Thank Offering process. Because an attitude of gratitude is pleasing to the Lord, we want to continue to promote this worthwhile practice. Over the past several years, we have noticed a significant drop in participation, though, so we have had many discussions about updating our Thank Offering process.
Â
We added online giving as an alternative to the coin bank offering for those who prefer that method. We are committed to encouraging women of God in the daily practice of giving thanks to the Lord. For those who do not want to use the coin bank, we suggest keeping a gratitude journal. Each day, write a short thank-you note to the Lord.  At the end of the year, that would be 365 days of thank offerings. We suggest a gift of just $.10 per day, which would total $36.50 for the year, although women are free to give any amount the Lord should lead them to give.
Â
Why should you write it in a journal instead of a quick prayer of thanks? Writing a short thank-you note to the Lord will take less than two minutes a day, but you will have a record of what you are thankful for. Over time, you begin to think more deeply about what you are thankful for and develop a lifestyle of gratitude. A side benefit is that generations from now, a family member will be able to remember you as a woman with a thankful heart.
