We have been living in the end days since Jesus ascended into heaven. But it seems to me, more and more, that we are living in the end moments, and that Jesus is returning sooner than we could have thought or imagined. And with the return of Christ we know that the world will continue to get darker and darker everywhere we turn.
As Christian women, it can be difficult to stand firmly on our faith and boldly believe in God in today’s world. We face many doubts and fears and often must push against the current of a secular society that doesn’t share in, or even understand our beliefs. But if we look to God’s word for guidance, we can find strength and courage to keep our faith strong.
When our mind is not renewed daily (as scripture has taught us to do in Romans 12), we begin to slip back into our old ways and thought patterns. Giving the enemy of our soul an opportunity to sneak in with false accusations and discouraging words. However, when you continue to read the word of God daily, you can keep your mind on things above.
Here are some scriptures that have helped me along my journey, and I hope that you can find encouragement in them as well.
Proverbs 28:1 – “The wicked flee when no one pursues, but the righteous are bold as a lion.”
Psalm 27:1 - “The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?”
Isaiah 41:10 - “Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Joshua 1:9 - “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be frightened, and do not be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
2 Timothy 1:7-8 - “For God gave us a spirit not of fear, but of power and love and a sound mind. Therefore, do not be ashamed of the testimony of our Lord!”
Deuteronomy 31:6 - “Be strong and courageous. Do not fear or be in dread of them, for it is the Lord your God who goes with you. He will not leave you or forsake you.”
1 Thessalonians 2:2 – “But though we had already suffered and been shamefully treated at Philippi, as you know, we had boldness in our God to declare to you the gospel of God in the midst of much conflict.”
These verses, and many more throughout the Bible, remind us that we can trust in God and find strength through Him. When we have faith in God, we can overcome anything. So let us choose to trust and have courage even when things seem hard or uncertain. Let us always believe in His promises and have faith that He will never leave us nor forsake us. Let us choose to BOLDLY live for God in a world that is not.
